KEYBO for iPhone and iPad — Privacy Policy

App: KEYBO - Ai Keyboard (com.shubhamsaini.keybo)
Last updated: 10 October 2026

The short version. What you type is not collected, not stored and not sent anywhere. Text leaves your device only when you tap one of the AI buttons, and only the text that button works on. It is used to write the answer and is not kept. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads and no tracking.

Who this is from

KEYBO is made by Shubham Saini. If you have a question about anything here, or want data deleted, write to hellokeybo@gmail.com.

This page covers KEYBO on iPhone and iPad. The Android app has its own policy.

What the keyboard can see

A keyboard receives what you type in order to type it. iOS says so when you allow Full Access, and it is true of this keyboard as of any other.

There is no logging of what you type and no cloud sync. Suggestions, autocorrect, swipe typing, Hindi transliteration and emoji suggestions are all worked out on your device. The keys work fully without Full Access; only the AI buttons need it, because they need the network.

When text leaves your device

Only when you tap an AI button: Fix, Tone, Translate or Reply. Nothing is sent while you are simply typing.

What is sent is the text that button works on, which button it was, your choices for it (the tone, the language, the reply length, or the wording of a tone you wrote yourself), and the random installation number described below. It is used to produce the answer, returned to you, and not kept.

Reply answers a message you have copied and pasted in with the Reply button. If what you copied is several messages from a chat, the earlier ones are sent too, so the reply fits the conversation. The keyboard cannot see your chats or anything on your screen; it only ever has what you copied. Before anything is sent, it is checked on your device: anything that looks like a one-time code, a password or a PIN is refused, and card numbers and other long numbers are blanked out.

Where the AI buttons never work

In password fields, and in any field an app has marked as secure, the AI buttons do not work and nothing is sent. Typing works normally.

Transcribing a voice note

You can share a voice note to KEYBO to have it written out. The transcription is done by Apple's speech recognition, set to run on your device only, so the audio never leaves it and is not sent to us or to Apple's servers. The text waits on your device for the keyboard to offer it, and is cleared once you use or dismiss it, or on its own soon after. iOS asks for Speech Recognition permission the first time.

The random installation number

The app makes a random number the first time it runs and sends it with each AI request. It exists to count how many AI actions this install has used, so the free allowance can be applied. It is not your advertising identifier, your device's serial number or an account, and it does not follow you between apps. Deleting the app discards it, and reinstalling makes a new one.

Your plan, and what our server keeps

Against that random number, our server keeps only: which plan the install is on, how many AI actions it has used in the current period, when that period resets, whether it is an iPhone or an Android phone (read from the request itself), and the first and last day it was seen. No messages, no names, no email address and no payment details.

The server also keeps daily totals — how many installs were active, how many AI answers were given, what they cost us — as counts, with nothing in them about who you are or what you wrote.

If you enter a promo code, the code is sent to our server to be checked and the result recorded against that same random number. Nothing else about you is involved.

KEYBO Premium is sold by Apple through the App Store. We never see your card or your Apple ID. When you subscribe, the app sends our server Apple's signed record of the purchase, and Apple sends us notices when it renews, lapses or is refunded. From those we keep the subscription's transaction number and when it ends, so Premium works on your installs. You manage or cancel it in your Apple ID's subscription settings.

Who processes what

Fixes, tones, translations and replies to messages in Hinglish or Hindi are written by OpenAI's GPT model; replies to messages in English or any other language are written by Anthropic's Claude model, which also steps in if OpenAI is unavailable. Our server passes the text to OpenAI's or Anthropic's API - without the installation number or anything else about you - and returns the answer to you. Neither company uses it to train its models, and each may keep it for a limited time under its own API policies, for example up to 30 days to detect abuse. Our server is hosted on Railway. Neither our server nor the app keeps your text after answering. Nothing is sold, rented or shared with anyone else, and nothing is used for advertising or to build a profile of you.

What the keyboard learns as you type

So that suggestions can offer the words you actually use, the keyboard counts them, on your device: how often you type each word, and which word tends to follow which. No sentence is stored, and no message can be rebuilt from what is kept. It is never uploaded, and it is excluded from your iCloud and device backups.

Nothing is learned from password, email or web-address fields, or from anything with a digit in it. To erase it all, open KEYBO → Settings → Learned words → Forget. Deleting the app removes it too.

What stays on your device

Your settings never leave your device: the theme, the keyboard's size, your languages, your own tones, your text shortcuts, recent emoji, the learned words above, a voice note's text until it is used, and the clipboard list if you switched it on. The clipboard list is off until you switch it on, and clearing it in the clipboard panel removes it. Like other app data, your settings and the clipboard list may be included in your own iCloud or device backup.

Permissions

KEYBO does not use the microphone, and it cannot read your contacts, your location, your photos or your files.

Reviews on our website

If you write a review on our website, we keep what you type into the form: your name, where you are from (if you give it), your star rating, your review and its language, with the date. A review is only shown on the website after we have approved it, and we may delete any review.

To stop the form being flooded, each review also stores a one-way, salted fingerprint of the internet address it came from, used only to allow three reviews a day from one address. The address itself is not stored. To have your review removed, write to hellokeybo@gmail.com.

Analytics, advertising and tracking

There are none. The app contains no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporter from another company and no trackers of any kind.

Children

KEYBO is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. The app has no accounts and collects no personal details, so there is nothing to identify a child by.

Your choices, and deleting your data

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and the current version is always the one at this address.
