KEYBO for Chrome, Edge and Firefox — Privacy Policy

Browser extension: KEYBO - Ai Keyboard
Last updated: 10 October 2026

The short version. KEYBO does not read, collect or store what you type. Text leaves your browser only when you click one of KEYBO's actions, and only the text that action works on. It is used to write the answer and is not kept by us. Before KEYBO sends anything the first time, it asks for your OK. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads and no tracking.

Who this is from

KEYBO is made by Shubham Saini. If you have a question about anything here, or want data deleted, write to hellokeybo@gmail.com.

This page covers the KEYBO browser extension. The iPhone app has its own policy, and so does the Android app.

KEYBO is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

What KEYBO can see

To put its button in the corner of the box you are typing in, KEYBO runs on the web pages you visit. On a page it looks only at the text box you click into, and at text you select. It does not read the rest of the page, it does not record what you type, and it does not appear in password, card-number, one-time-code or email-address boxes.

When text leaves your browser

Only when you click one of KEYBO's actions: Reply, a tone, Fix, Rewrite or Translate — on the button in a text box, in the right-click menu, or in the write pad in KEYBO's toolbar popup.

What is sent is:

Before anything is sent, it is checked in your browser: a message that looks like a one-time code, a password or a PIN is not sent at all, and card numbers and other long numbers are blanked out.

Who processes it

Fixes, tones, translations and replies to messages in Hinglish or Hindi are written by OpenAI's GPT model; replies to messages in English or any other language are written by Anthropic's Claude model, which also steps in if OpenAI is unavailable. KEYBO's server passes the text to OpenAI's or Anthropic's API — without the installation number or anything else about you — and returns the answer to you. Neither company uses it to train its models, and each may keep it for a limited time under its own API policies, for example up to 30 days to detect abuse. KEYBO's server is hosted on Railway. Our server does not keep your text after answering, and nothing is sold, rented or shared with anyone else.

The use of information received from the extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Your text is used only to give you the answer you asked for. It is not used for advertising, not used to decide creditworthiness or for lending, not read by people, and not transferred to anyone except to provide that answer.

The random installation number

KEYBO makes a random number when it is installed and sends it with each AI request. It exists to count how many AI actions this installation has used, so the free allowance can be applied. It is not linked to you, your Google or Mozilla account, or your device. Removing the extension discards it, and installing again makes a new one. You can see it in KEYBO's settings, under About.

What our server keeps

Against that random number, our server keeps only: which plan the installation is on, how many AI actions it has used in the current period, when that period resets, what kind of device it is (read from the request itself), and the first and last day it was seen. No messages, no names, no email address and no payment details. The server also keeps daily totals — how many installations were active and how many answers were given — as counts, with nothing in them about who you are or what you wrote.

If you enter a promo code, the code is sent to our server to be checked and the result is recorded against that same random number.

What stays in your browser

Your settings — the language KEYBO answers in, your translate language, your own tones, the toolbar's buttons, and the sites where you turned KEYBO off — are kept by your browser. If you use your browser's own sync, your browser may copy them between your devices. The installation number, your plan, and when you allowed KEYBO to send text are kept in this browser only. The write pad in the toolbar popup keeps what you typed there in this browser until you clear it.
